The first anniversary celebrations of Sivakasi Namadwaar began on 27th February and went on for 9 days concluding on 7th March 2009. A grand Srimad Ramayana Navaha was organized by GOD India Trust in Padamuthu Ayyanaar Kovil Mandapam. Sister Poornima of our satsang lectured on Ramayana every evening from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM. More than 200 devotees enjoyed the bliss of Rama Katha everyday.

On 28th March, Sri Sattanatha Bhagavatar and team marked the beginning of Radha Kalyana Mahotsav, which was a part of the anniversary celebrations, with Sri Jayadeva’s Ashtapathi from 9 AM and continued after the lunch Prasad in the afternoon.

After the day’s Rama Katha, the Bhagavathas enthusiastically started off with the Nichyathaartha Utsav for Sri Radha and Sri Krishna! This was followed by a lively DivyaNamaSankirtan which went on till 1:30 AM in the morning! More than 100 devotees participated and enjoyed the satsang.

The day of 1st March 2009 dawned early for the Bhagavatas and devotees who were already excited about the Radha Kalyanam.  After participating in the unchavriti, the devotees waited and enjoyed the Radha Kalyanam too. More than 150 devotees took part in the utsav and had a sumptuous Prasad too!

The number of devotees who attended the Rama Katha every evening increased day by day. On 7th March, the Namadwaar anniversary day, devotees gathered at 6 AM in Sivakasi Namadwaar for chanting the Mahamantra. More than 200 devotees took part in the Nagara Sankirtan that began at 9:30 AM from Namadwaar.

With the streets of Sivakasi reverberating with ‘Hare rama..’ Mahamantra and onlookers chanting along unconsciously, the devotees joyfully sang the Divine Names.

At 10:30, they reached Namadwaar again where a wonderful satsang by Sri Kesavanji and Sri Venkateshji awaited them! Quoting extensively from the works of Azhwars, Kesavanji spoke on the glory of chanting the divine names. With apt examples from our very own satsang, he emphasized on the glory of Guru and Nama. Following this, Sri Kesavanji released the Nama Anubhava book printed by the Sivakasi namadwaar devotees and gave the first copy to Ms. Bhavani.  Sri Venkateshji spoke for the next 30 mins on the greatness of Guru and Nama. He expounded on the greatness of Guru by citing incidents from Swami Vivekananda and Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa’s life. The devotees sat mesmerized by this wonderful satsang!

Now it was time for the kids to get into action! A treasure hunt was organized for the kids of Namadwaar. With clues based on Sivakasi Namadwaar and Sri Swamiji, the kids were quick to uncover the treasure at the Lotus feet of Sri Swamiji!

The chanting of Mahamantra continued till 6 PM. The celebrations came to conclusion with Sister Poornima’s discourse on Sri Rama Pattabhisheka from 6 PM to 8 PM.

The devotees longingly conveyed their desire to have more such satsangs and celebrations.
