Quarter finals / Semi Finals and Finals of the Puranava 2016– Inter District Indian Heritage Quiz Competition were held in Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Race Course road, on the 17th September 2016. 86 schools from Bangalore participated in this year Puranava from Bangalore. Students, Teachers and Parents were all enthusiastic and preparing till the last minute to see their school qualify to the semi-finals. Over 250 students had come in from the various qualifying schools to cheer up their participants.

The Program commenced with lighting of the lamp followed by chanting of the Mahamantra by all the GOD volunteers and the audience. Abhishek Narayan compered the entire program including introduction to the GOD activities. 6 teams from the Semi-finals were selected to the Finals of Puranava. Nama Sekar was the Quiz Master for the Semi-finals which was keenly contested amongst the teams. Ms. Madhuri Narayan conducted the finals of Puranava 2016.

This year featured a variety of entertaining rounds for both semi-finals and finals including Srimad Bhagavatham slokas. Many interesting new rounds were introduced.

ITI – K.R Puram was the Winner, followed by Pawan English schools as the 1st runner up and Chinmaya Vidyalaya as the 2nd runner up. All the 3 teams were presented with Gold trophy/ Medal, Silver trophy/ medals, Bronze trophy / medals respectively. Participating students from both the Semi-finals and the Finals were presented with Certificates and gift vouchers.

Puranava 2015 was held in Bengaluru at Sri Seetharama Hall, Kalkare on 3rd September 2015.

The Semi Finals and Finals of the Puranava 2014 – Inter District Indian Heritage Quiz Competition was held in St. Joseph Indian Institution Auditorium, Vittal Mallya Road, Bangalore on the 06th September 2014. All the 23 schools who had qualified to the Semi Finals from the zonal rounds put in special efforts to prepare their children for the “Grand Day”.  Over 250 students had come in from the various qualifying schools to cheer up their participants.

The Program commenced with lighting of the lamp followed by chanting of the Mahamantra by all the GOD volunteers and the audience.  All the teachers and principal from the participating schools were then felicitated before the commencement of the 3 Pre-final rouds. Delhi Kumar then presented the GOD activities of Bangalore including a walkthrough of the zonal rounds. Sri. U. Ve. R. Balaji – Principal – Sandeepani Gurukulam and Sri. Ramanujamji were the Jury members for the semi-finals & finals event.

Quiz Masters Vijay Subramaniam & Roopa Gurumurthy conducted the 3 pre-finals admirably. 6 teams from the Semi-finals were selected to the Finals of Puranava 2014. Abhishek Narayan was the Quiz Master for the finals which was keenly contested amongst the teams. Sri. Gurumurthy for GOD – Bangalore anchored the program.

This year featured a variety of entertaining rounds for both semi-finals & finals with slokas from Srimad Bhagavatham. There was excitement and enthusiasm all around as positions kept swinging at the end of each round. The entire auditorium was reverberating with cheers for over 3 hours of the Program.

Poorna Pragnya High school – Malleswaram emerged the “Winner” of Puranava 2014 Gold trophy & Gold Medals. Sri. Pawan English School – Malleswaram won the runners up Silver trophy & Silver medals & Cluny convent – Rajaji Nagar was the 2nd runner up. Participating students from both the Semi-finals and the Finals were presented with Certificates & gift vouchers.

Dr. Anil Rao Paila – Dean , Welingkar Institute of Management & Research & Mrs. Devaki Kumar – Principal , Chinmaya Vidyalaya , St. Johns Road, Ulsoor, were the Chief Guests for the event and delivered an inspiring talk to the children, where the quest to know & learn from our Puranas are facilitated by GOD Organisation in such a simple & defining manner.
