Come Marghazhi, the Satsang members of Bangalore go one up on the lovely birds by waking them up with the melodious chanting of “Mahamantra”.  The Nagara Sankirtan starts sharp at 6.00 am everyday from the 11th Cross, 5th Main junction in Malleswaram and at 5.30 am from “Sri Sundara Anjaneya” temple at Ramamurty Nagar. Many a residents keenly await the enchanting Mahamantra to wake them up while others stand outside their homes and participate as the procession pass their homes. 


   


Sundays are special as all Satsang members congregate in a designated locality and have the Nagara Sankirtan in that locality. This Sunday, i.e. 21st of December, 2008 it was done at Sanjay Nagar, where large number of devotees participated in the Nagara Sankirtan which started from the “Sri Radha Krishna” temple on the Sanjay Nagar Main road and culminated there.


  


During the weekend, on 20th and 21st of December 2008, Nagara Sankirtan was conducted by Satsang members around Tippasandra and Ulsoor.  They started from the Tippasandra Sri Rama Temple and went around some main streets surrounding the temple. There were around 15 devotees and the Nagara Sankirtan was done for 45 minutes.


Marghazhi month “Nagara Sankirtan” is continuing with full zeal and enthusiasm.  There have been some blissful experiences amongst Satsang members in the course of these 20 days. This Sunday i.e. on 4th of January 2009, “Nagara Sankirtan” was done at Cambridge layout. Devotees in large numbers joined the chanting which started from the “Sri Ganapathy Temple” at 6.00 am and concluded by 6.45 am.
