GOD Bangalore conducted 2 sessions of Motivational Lecture and Mass Prayer on 6th Dec 2014, for students appearing for X and XII Board examination. The morning sessions from 10:00 am – 12.30 pm was held at the Jnana Jyoti Auditorium – Bangalore university campus, Palace road and the afternoon session was conducted at the newly constructed Seetharama Hall (Adjacent to Sri Sundara Anjaneya Swamy Temple), Kalkere, NRI Layout. Over 1700 students across 35 schools in Bangalore participated in the session. Smt. Seethamma – Registrar, Bangalore University and Sri. Sankaranarayanan – Trustee, Veda Vyasa Purana Patasala Trust were our distinguished chief guests for the morning and afternoon sessions respectively.

The program commenced with the lighting of the lamp by our GOD volunteers followed by rendering of the “Karnataka Anthem” by Ms. Madhuri Narayan and Ms. Payal. This was followed by a video presentation on the GOD activities around the world detailing the mission, activities and recognition received. GOD clean-up activities conducted in various parts of Tamil Nadu was then presented by Sri. Sanath to bring in awareness amongst students and academicians present, as well as encourage them to participate along with our volunteers in the coming years.

For the 2nd year in succession, GOD – Bangalore awarded scholarships to meritorious students of class X and XII coming from under privileged society to partially support them for their school fees and higher education. For the academic year 2014-15, the number of students who received the scholarship was 33 as against 14 students who were offered during academic year 2013-14.

Inspirational lectures were delivered by Sri Gurumurthy Raman and Dr. Bhagyanathan in the 1st session and by Sri. Vijay Subramanian and Dr. Bhagyanathan in the 2nd session. Students who participated in game show during the Mass prayer sessions were given freebies as a token of our appreciation. Sri. Abhishek Narayan compered both the events interestingly by engaging with the audience intermittently.

The program culminated with chorus chanting of the Mahamantra by the entire audience reverberating in the whole auditorium. All the participants were provided with freebies and light snacks.

The feedback mails and messages received post the mass prayer session from the various school management is extremely encouraging with many schools acknowledging the benefits to the students coming at the most appropriate time.  Mahamantra chanting has been included across 15 schools in the school prayer session. The Management of every school has thanked GOD profusely for recognizing and awarding scholarship to the needy students and encouraging them at the right time.
