Two years ago on the Tamil New Years day, our satsang member Sri. G.Kasinathan started
Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare
Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare

Mahamantra chanting satsang in the Sri.Lakshmi Narayana Perumal temple in a small yet beautiful village named “Puliyur” near Nagapattinam.  Since then the Hare Rama Mahamanthra chanting is held every Saturday from 6 pm to 7 pm at the temple premises.

On 27th MARCH 2009, our Hare Rama Mahamanthra satsang members celebrated 100th week of continuous namakirtan satsang in a unique way by performing nagarasankirtan covering three nearby villages. The satsang started at 5:00PM.  Lord Panduranga, Premika Varadhan and our Gurumaharaj’s photos were beautifully decorated with huge garlands and placed in a push cart (manual operated rickshaw) with mobile sound system. Kids were singing Hare Rama Mahamantra with cymbals swinging in their hands. Their chorus was beautifully echoed by the elders. The procession passed through the lush green paddy fields and it was obvious our lord Krishna enjoyed the raid because the garland in His neck was swinging to the rhythm of Hare Rama Mahamantra.

The procession covered three villages namely Puliyur, Adipallam, Themangalam.  It is worth to mention about the persons living in these villages. Mostly the villagers are living in small huts and are leading a simple life.  But their heart is too big that they have cleaned the streets with water and draw big Kolam (decorative artwork drawn) on the front of houses.   Holding a tray contains the pooja materials (contains coconut, flower, bananas, agarbathis and camphor), they all were waiting outside the house expecting our Krishna to bless them with His divine smile.

Earlier the planned duration for this procession was only one hour. But moved by the sheer devotion of these villagers, the Lord decided to move slowly and wanted to cover all streets in these villages. Hence the procession completed only at 8:00pm. Yes, it took three hours to complete the procession!  The satsang members from the age 5 to 80 were continuously singing the Mahamantra for all the three hours.

Kumkum Prasad and Mahamantra stickers were distributed to all villagers.
