Commemorating the first year completion of the Periyakulam Namadwaar, GOD India had organized for a Bhagavatha lecture series at Periyakulam Varadharaja Swamy temple from 22nd to 28th June 2009.

SriKrishnakumar, in charge of the Periyakulam Namadwaar has been doing a yeomen service of Nama prachaar in and around Periyakulam, making lots of people to chant Mahamantra and has been running the Namadwaar at his residence since its inception. He has meticulously worked to spread the Nama vaibhava for more than 5 years and as a result we have Namakirtan being performed at various kendras around Periyakulam. Sri Krishnakumar’s entire family is very devoted to our Sri Sri Swamiji and everybody’s namanishta is awe inspiring.

Sri S Balaji of GOD India Trust delivered lectures on Srimad Bhagavatham from 22nd to 28th June 2009, in the evening from 6.00 pm to 8.00 pm at Sri.Varadharaja Swamy temple premises. More than 150 people attended the lecture series everyday. Sri Balaji made the lecture so lucid and simple and packed them with devotional fervour that everybody listened to their heart’s content. Sri.Balaji firmly laid his emphasis on Bhakti and Nama through out his lectures, citing examples from various Bhakta charitras.

On the last day of the lecture series, a Nagara kirtan was performed by all the Periyakulam Namadwaar devotees. The Nagara kirtan started around 10.00 am in the morning from Sri Varadharaja Swamy temple and then the procession went around the streets encompassing the temple in the form of circumambulation and reached the temple by 10.40 am. More than 200 people participated in the procession. Sri Sri Swamiji’s photo was beautifully decorated with flowers and was carried in front. Many devotees carried Nama banners and everybody chanted Mahamantra with great enthusiasm. A grand Annadhanam was arranged for all the devotees at the temple premises at the end of the Nagara kirtan.

Sri Krishnakumar had beautifully arranged and coordinated all the events. Smt Kasiammal and Sri Krishnakumar’s family members also lent their wonderful co-operation in making this event a grand success.
