By the grace of Sri Sri Swamiji, Smt Abhirami Venkateswaran organized Mahamantra Nama sankirtan during Navarathri pooja celebrations at Poojapura Saraswathi Mandapam in Thiruvananthapuram. The Temple and the mandapam are in the Poojapura grounds where the annual Navarathri festivities are held. Nama sankirtan was held on all the nine days, that is from Friday, September 18th until Monday, September 28th between 4 pm and 5 pm.
About 25 people joined the Nama sankirtan every day. Thankfully, the temple authorities supported by giving the mike and two speakers. With that, Mahamantra resonated across the ground and in fact, it was heard by all residents within the range of 1 km from the ground. Hundreds of people who came to witness the grand celebrations on the ground did join the singing party from wherever they were on the ground. With advertisements on TV and newspapers about the satsang, the event and the Name of Sri Sri Swamiji reached a wide audience. On a couple of days, short lectures were delivered by Smt Abhirami on ‘Nama Mahathmyam’. Smt Sujatha Sankar of GOD United States also participated and ably supported the conduct of the event. On the last day, many devotees of Sri Sri Swamiji participated in the satsang.
Overall, everybody conveyed their happiness for participating in such an event and many thanked for being able to listen to the Mahamantra right at their homes through the giant speakers. We pray at the Feet of our Gurumaharaj for many such satsangs to be held at Trivandrum in the days to come and the Divine Name reach all.
